Health safeguard

The OEKO-TEX Standard 100 is the best-known certification in the textile sector, created to protect the health of consumers, issued to those who pass the tests for harmful substances. In fact, when a product bears the oeko-tex symbol, it means that every part of it (thread, padding, button, zip, print, lining and packaging) has passed the tests on harmful substances and is therefore safe for humans.

The certification subscription is legally binding and therefore there is no way to falsify it. In fact, to obtain it various tests must be carried out on the products, with the control of almost 300 substances, conducted by Oeko-tex partner institutes, which will verify:

• the absence of substances prohibited by law;
• the correct use of substances regulated by law;
• the absence of the main chemical substances notoriously harmful to health but not yet regulated;
• that the products comply with the parameters for the protection of health.

Last but not least, the Oeko-tex certification is also a valid aid in safeguarding our planet. Chemical substances, such as the fertilizers used in the production of cotton, in fact have an environmental impact that is now recognized in the textile sector and it is important to limit their use.
